YRC Freight’s Training Program for Recent Truck Driving School Graduates

Graduated from truck driving school? You’re almost there! YRC Freight’s training program for recent graduates lets you earn top pay while preparing for a career with us.

At this point you have the knowledge, but you need more real-road experience. You’ll be paired with a seasoned driver trainer who’ll guide you through the final 160 hours to becoming a P&D or road driver.

You will:

• Participate in driver trainer rides to ensure skill and proficiency level is acceptable for performing job duties safely and efficiently.
• Use a “Daily Record of Driving Evaluation” form to document the rides.
• Track time in a Driver’s Daily Log at the end of each day to ensure 160 hours of driving time is completed.
• Follow your driver trainer’s route as your training ground for practical experience and interaction with customers.

Once you’ve completed 160 hours, your progress will be evaluated. No worries if you need a little more training. We can schedule that. If your proficiency level is sufficient, you’ll move into a permanent linehaul or city assignment, depending on our current needs and openings.
